Abstrak

Background: About 4,65% of the people in Kediri Village work as farmers. The farming profession has a high risk to health. Ergonomics studies are needed related to farmer activities, organization, and work environment. The purpose of this research is to get an overview of ergonomic studies on farmers in Panti Hamlet, Kediri Village, Tabanan Regency. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design. Data were obtained from interviews and observations of 20 farmers. The research was conducted in November-December 2020. Results: The food and beverage need of farmers in the field have been met. BMI results were 6 people (30%) had pre-obesity and 1 person (5%) had obesity class 1. Many farmers suffered from muscle pain in the waist and lower back. When working, the farmer's body position is bent and the knees are slightly bent with bent elbows. The farming tools used were; lawn mowers, tractors, sickles, harrows and hoes; Typical clothing were short/long- sleeved shirts, knee-length/long pants, cloth gloves, and a hat with a cloth added. Farmers work at temperatures between 28.5 0C - 36.8 0C and noise between 53.8 dB-62.5 dB. Working time were 4 to 9 hours with rest time 30 minutes to an hour. There were no displays in the fields. Education is provided by a field agricultural extension team assigned by the government. The social interaction carried out by farmers in Panti Hamlet was exemplary. Conclusion: From the 8 aspects studied in ergonomics, there are still several aspects that need to be studied further.
